There are many business owners out there being afraid and skeptical about Facebook lives and it is something that I can understand.
I get it! You are out here exposing yourself in front of people you don’t know, and when you’re live anything can happen!
But let’s be honest, there will always be people judging. This is social media and you NEED to understand that it does not matter if 3 people are judging when you have 10 other people interested in what you have to say.
Besides, when it comes to growing your audience and your business you should be using all the tools social media has for you.
So, stop thinking about what can go wrong and let’s focus on the benefits that Facebook lives have for your brand.
- It’s a great way to get social media engagement.
Doing a Facebook live is a great way to interact with your audience and ask them anything you want or vice versa. A live brings your followers closer to you and allows them to enter an intimate part of your life. In that way, they feel comfortable asking you questions and interacting with you. It doesn’t matter if it’s your personal brand or a brand for a product or service. People love seeing the face behind something they buy.
- Increases the sense of community.
As I told you before, a live makes your followers closer to you and allows them to see you just like you are! So if you say something like “Let’s talk at 7 p.m for a live while I cook a meal” or “We will be doing a live to show the process of creation of our new product” will make them feel like they are part of your life or your brand. This is where a community starts to grow! And having a community that follows you and believes in what you do is the best way to increase your social media income.
- Drives more traffic to your website or Facebook page.
If you have someone watching your live it means you have their full attention, so it’s a great way to send them to another place to see more from you. So if you have an online store and you are doing a Facebook live talking about a certain product they are listening to you and when you say “actually you can go to this link and check out that product” there is a high chance that they will go there. This helps you to considerably increase your traffic and as a result, increase your sales.
- Creates excitement and curiosity about launches, events, or news.
You have probably seen this before when a brand tells you to remember a live because they will be giving big news about a product, event, or launch Curiosity is what drives people to click and join on social media, they want to know what’s behind the scenes. So, this is a great technique. Even so, you need to be careful with this one. You don’t want to be saying this every week because they will get tired of it. You don’t want to say “Hey let’s talk in this live I have big news” and then show up without much to say because you will lose their trust. And you need to see your audience’s trust like a precious gift!
- Provides a good way to give content.
A great way to provide value for your audience is through a live! You can say “let’s connect at 7 and I will teach you for FREE how to do this…” Just make sure to provide real value and make their time investment worth it. You will create trust, you will have the chance to engage with them, and you will also have a new piece of content that you can reuse in other places. You can also provide content and then show them a new offer you have.
So, how do you feel about doing lives now?
My last advice is… Do it! Always do what is best for your brand, and if you feel like you can talk to your audience and connect with them through a live, then it’s a great idea.
Show your offers, give news, get a little more personal, bring your followers to your reality! We all love someone that we can relate with.
